Community Guidelines
What is and is not allowed on TruckersBS, how we enforce the rules, and how to report or appeal.
Effective: December 1, 2026
1. Why we have these Guidelines
1.1 Our community. TruckersBS is a trucking community and media platform built for drivers, by a driver. It works when people speak honestly and treat each other with respect. These Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed, how we enforce the rules and how you can report a problem or appeal a decision.
1.2 Who these Guidelines bind. They apply to everyone who uses the Platform at https://truckersbs.com/, including Contributors, forum members, people who use CabBox, E-Sign, THT Funds and Drivers, and visitors. They form part of the User Terms (https://truckersbs.com/legal/user-terms).
1.3 Taking part. Any registered user can post in the Forums, ask questions, comment, share information and use the other features open to registered users, without asking for permission. Publishing Stories is different: Stories are published only by Contributors, who must register and apply for Contributor status and be approved, as explained in section 9.
1.4 Independent voices. The people who post here are independent members of the community. They are not employees, agents or representatives of Truckers Base Social Inc. ("TruckersBS") or LTL VAN Media Inc. ("LTL VAN Media"), and what they write is their own opinion. We do not verify every statement posted. See the Disclaimers at https://truckersbs.com/legal/disclaimers.
2. Respect for people
2.1 Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not with people. Healthy debate, honest criticism of companies and industry practices, and frank talk about the realities of the job are welcome.
2.2 Harassment and abuse. Do not harass, bully, intimidate, stalk or target anyone. Repeated unwanted contact, pile-ons, abusive messages in CabBox and threats are not allowed.
2.3 Hate. Do not attack or demean people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status or other protected characteristics. This includes slurs and dehumanizing content.
2.4 Threats and violence. Do not threaten, encourage or glorify violence or harm against anyone. Credible threats may be reported to law enforcement.
2.5 Sexual content. Do not post pornography or sexually explicit content. Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is prohibited and will be reported to authorities. Do not share intimate images of anyone without their consent, including as a threat or as retaliation. We remove non-consensual intimate imagery promptly once we receive a valid request.
3. Honesty and lawfulness
3.1 Keep it real. Tell your own story truthfully. You may share opinions and experiences, but do not state as fact something you know to be false. Do not fabricate stories, reviews, credentials, incidents or quotations.
3.2 Naming companies and individuals. You may describe your genuine experience with a carrier, broker, shipper, dispatcher or person, but you must be able to stand behind your statements. Do not make accusations of crime or serious misconduct unless you can support them. Do not publish private information about individuals.
3.3 Illegal content. Do not post content that is unlawful where you live or where we operate, including content that promotes fraud, theft, trafficking, illegal drugs, weapons sales, or the evasion of safety, licensing or hours-of-service rules.
3.4 Impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a regulator, an enforcement officer, a carrier or TruckersBS, or imply that your opinion is the position of TruckersBS or LTL VAN Media.
3.5 Disclose connections. If you are paid, rewarded or otherwise connected to a company, product or service you promote, say so clearly in the post.
3.6 Artificial intelligence. You may use AI tools, including our writing assistance tools when they are available, to help edit your writing, but you remain responsible for it. Do not publish AI-generated stories presented as real driver experiences, fake identities or synthetic images or videos of real people that could mislead.
4. Privacy and safety of others
4.1 Protect personal information. Do not post other people's private information, including home addresses, phone numbers, private emails, licence numbers, financial details, medical information or documents, without their consent. Do not share doxxing material.
4.2 Photos and video. Photos and video that show identifiable people, licence plates, load documents or private property must not be posted if doing so would breach someone's privacy or the law. Do not record or share conversations where recording is unlawful. Recording rules differ by country, state and province.
4.3 CabBox and E-Sign. Use CabBox and E-Sign only for lawful, genuine purposes. Do not send spam, malware, unwanted or abusive material, or documents you have no right to share. Do not request signatures through deception or pressure, and do not sign for another person.
4.4 Self-harm and crisis. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please seek help. In Canada you can call or text 9-8-8 for the Suicide Crisis Helpline, and in the United States you can call or text 988. In an emergency contact local emergency services. Do not post content that encourages self-harm.
5. Safety-critical content
5.1 Informational only. Content about load securement, regulations, equipment and driving practices is shared for general information and discussion. It is not training, certification or advice, and it does not replace the applicable regulations, your carrier's procedures or the manufacturer's instructions.
5.2 Do not promote unsafe practices. Do not post content that encourages unsafe securement, overloading, fatigue, impaired driving, tampering with safety or logging systems, or evading inspections.
5.3 Corrections. If you find an error or unsafe suggestion in a post, report it. We may add a correction note, a warning label or remove the post.
5.4 Official sources. When in doubt, check with the regulator, such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the United States or the provincial or territorial transport authority in Canada, and with your carrier.
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Your own content. Post only content you created or have permission to use. This includes text, photos, videos, music and documents.
6.2 Copying. Do not copy articles, images, videos or other material from other sources without permission. Short quotations with attribution may be acceptable, but you are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful.
6.3 Complaints. If you think your work has been posted without permission, follow the Copyright Complaints Policy at https://truckersbs.com/legal/copyright-complaints. We may remove content and, for repeat infringers, close accounts.
7. THT Funds, Shop and commercial activity
7.1 THT Funds integrity. Request support only for a real need. Everything in a request must be truthful, including the person, the circumstances, the purpose and the campaign link. Do not use another person's story, photos or name without permission. Do not post duplicate or fake requests, or claim a request is verified by TruckersBS when it is not.
7.2 Beneficiary dignity. Do not pressure people to donate, shame those who do not, or publish details about a person's medical condition, family or loss beyond what the person has agreed to share.
7.3 Reviews and labels. Our administrators and authorized fund approvers may review, label, publish, decline or remove requests, but we do not promise a particular review or verification procedure. Publication and any label, such as "TBS User", "Trucking Company", "TBS Admin" or "Documents", do not guarantee that a request is genuine or that the funds will be used as described. Do your own checks before you donate.
7.4 Spam and self-promotion. Do not spam. Keep advertising and self-promotion within the limits of the Platform's rules and label any sponsored or affiliate content. We do not currently sell paid promotion on the Platform, and you must not present a post as promoted or endorsed by TruckersBS. Do not post referral links, giveaways or offers in a way that misleads or floods others.
7.5 Fraud. Do not use the Platform for scams, fake loads, double brokering, phishing, pyramid schemes or deceptive offers. Report suspected scams to us and to the authorities.
8. What happens when something goes wrong
8.1 Reporting. You can report a Story, forum post, comment, Material, load securement setup, portfolio item, load, profile, THT Funds request or a CabBox message you have received using the Report button next to it, or by contacting us at [reporting email — to be confirmed]. You can report without signing in where the Platform allows it. Every report opens a case that our administrators and moderators review. Tell us where the content is, what the problem is and why you think it breaks these Guidelines or the law. Reports of copyright infringement should be made under the Copyright Complaints Policy. Reports of intimate images shared without consent should be sent to [intimate-image requests email — to be confirmed] and marked "Urgent", and we act on valid requests within 48 hours.
8.2 How we review. People review every report, and no AI or automated filter makes moderation decisions. We consider context, the severity of the harm, and whether the content is lawful. We may ask for more information. Reports about child safety, threats and intimate images shared without consent are treated as urgent: the content is hidden automatically until a person has reviewed it. Only administrators can see who made a report, and we do not tell the person reported who reported them. We remove the reporter's identity from the case 12 months after it is closed.
8.3 Our actions. Depending on the seriousness and history, we may: give a warning or educational notice; ask you to edit or remove content; label, limit visibility of or remove content; restrict features such as posting, CabBox, E-Sign or THT Funds; suspend an account for a set period; or permanently ban an account. We may skip steps for serious violations, including threats, sexual content involving minors, fraud and doxxing.
8.4 Notice. When we remove content or restrict an account, we will tell you, in the Platform and by email, what we did, the rule involved, whether we acted because the content was unlawful or because it broke these Guidelines, and how to appeal, unless doing so could cause harm, interfere with an investigation or breach the law. We also tell the people who reported the content what we decided.
8.5 Appeals. If you think we made a mistake, reply to our notice or contact us at [appeals email — to be confirmed] within 30 days. Someone who was not involved in the first decision will review it where practicable, and we will tell you the result.
8.6 Legal and law enforcement. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities and may report suspected serious crimes, including child sexual exploitation, as the law requires or permits.
8.7 Repeat violations. We may permanently ban users who repeatedly or seriously break these Guidelines. We do not allow banned users to return under another account.
9. Contributors and editorial standards
9.1 Becoming a Contributor. To publish Stories, personal experiences, blogs or other written works in the Stories section, you must register, apply through Become a Contributor and explain why you want to contribute. We review each application and decide whether to approve it. We require registration so that we have the contact details we need to communicate with Contributors, handle complaints and act on content that breaks these Guidelines. Contributors are accountable for what they publish.
9.2 Independent users. Contributors are independent users. They do not work for Truckers Base Social Inc. or LTL VAN Media, they are not employees and they are not paid for their contributions. Their Stories express their own opinions, which do not automatically represent the views of TruckersBS. Their works must meet these Guidelines and the Contributor Terms at https://truckersbs.com/legal/contributor-terms.
9.3 Accuracy. Contributors must take reasonable care to be accurate, to distinguish fact from opinion and to correct errors promptly.
9.4 Editorial decisions. We decide what we publish and may decline, hold, label or remove any Story. A decision not to publish is not a finding that a Story is false.
10. Changes and contact
10.1 Updates. We may update these Guidelines as the community and the law evolve. We will post the new version with its effective date.
10.2 Contact. Truckers Base Social Inc., 9505 Franklin Avenue, Unit 202, Fort McMurray, Alberta T9H 3Z7, Canada. Email: [contact email — to be confirmed].
